K & N Air Filter

Has anyone fitted a K&N air filter to their Avensis? Is there any noticable improvement in performance?

I don't have any experience of a K and N filter on an avensis but I did put one on my old Civic - it seemed to make a slight improvement to low-end torque (but not a lot) and increased the engine noise, I wasn't impressed enough to want to get one for my avensis though when I changed cars.
