Tell me your kill stories!!

What did you beat and how??

My best 'duel' was with a diesel SUV.

That new VW, tuareg I think it's called.

It all happened starting at the tunnels from the French border at Monaco toward Ancona. It lasted 30 endless minutes and since we were three in the car + luggage I couldn't blast him, but kept tightly behind (we're gonna get this thread locked toooooo... ).

At some point we reached a winding part of the road and I thought the VW would overturn. And I thought 'the guy's really trying here' so I blasted him on the curves. Then I waited for him to catch up and there it is, an endless straight.

I'm in fourth gear, 182km/h at 8200 and shift into 5th. The VW is steadily behind me, some 30 meters approximately. By the time I reach 220 I've freaked out, that truck was still behind me. At 225 he had already reached my butt.. :crybaby:

There some traffic at the horizon and we slam the brakes. I pull aside and he goes past me.

And here comes the second straight after the traffic clears up.

And here we start from 2nd gear.

All the way from 2nd to 4th the gas pedal remained crushed at the floor. (I don't do this form 4th to 5th)

I'm steadily behind him, some 20 meters behind. At 200 he tosses to the right to avoid the slipstreaming he had achieved before.

I follow his tail as instantly as his reflection would.

And there he gets it, at 225, just before I touch his bumber I face the air and we slowly go past him. He pretends he isn't looking but I'm sure his eyes were stuck to the left behind those black glasses.. :hokus-pokus:

PS. That was a 4lane italian highway with armco's in the middle and not a single car in sight. I understand this doesn't fully justify my behavior. My apologies to anyone offended.

Great story chris, haha...

Lengthy roads with throttle mashed wide open, high revs and high speed.

Don't think I could do this on my local highway, as it has fixed security camera's monitoring any silly behaviour. All though it would be fun.

(No offense taken) :)

no offense taken I don't believe there is anyone on here that could honestly say they have never sped in there life so it would be a bit hipocritical to condone anyone for speeding... It's always fun to see what your car can do against others and those conditions sounded perfect for it :D

the top model of those VW should have no probs with a TS in a strait line.

My best story was actualy a hammering but anyway... comming back from clearing my flat out in london so full of junk and my girlfriend. Whan i spot a Nobel so i have 2 have a go. i come along side and we slowed to about 60 change into in to 3rd and hammer it to the floor... he floors it (i think) and for a moment we are level, then he was bout 4 lengths infront as we hit 90 .... where i stopped and whatch him vannish ahead.

another time i was on my way to cornwall driving on one of those roads that goes to 2 lanes every so often so you can pass traffic. i had been stuck behind a broken down car for miles and a panda behind it. and way after a rounderbout the road went into 2 lanes and up a step hill. the panda cut round on the inside of the rounderbout and spent the next 30 seconds overtaking the truck. i was going bout 40 and as ther panda cleared i went into 2nd and went for it. Behind me was a subaru impretsa he stck to me like i was doing 20 in a 50 limit. i hit about 70 and pull back in. He overtakes as though i was in reverse it was so amazing. do HKS do bits for subaru as it had a sticker on the back?

I would just like to add that Toyota Owners Club does not condone racing unless performed legally on an airfield or racetrack...

Ive got a pissa of a story. One night driving to my GF's house this P-plater decides to fly past me and slow down next to me in a Holden Sandman with a 253 V8 (4.2 liter), and the guy had a Pornstar sticker on his back window, I just laughed and kept eating my Fillet of fish. As we approached the lights, mind you im an auto Echo 1.3(Yaris), they turn red. SO we sit side by side, him revving the :censor: out of the old dinosaur. Lights turn green we both gun it, no :censor: he kept up till 60kp/h then i started edging him out. The funny thing was that i forgot i had the half eaten burger in my hand and the sauce dripped all over my crutch, looked like i had !Removed! all over myself. Next set of lights he catches up again and we wait. This time i had the car in neutral, revved it to 5000, lights green, BANG i dumped it in first............it waz SEEEEEE YA....and ever since i dont undersetimate the Echo. I had a manual Echo for a month and i could take on a V6 till about 90-100kph and keep up.

I raced a Holden VL TURBO last night. And beat him.

(Mind you it's hard too find a VL turbo thats not worked)

I was at the lights wif 1 mate in the car, and a VL pulled up beside me. My mate was checking his car out, and got eye contact with the VL driver. At this stage I still didn't know if it was a turbo or not? So I didn't take off fast. As the lights turned green he got the launch about 1 car length in front, then I just held it flat out, we were neck and neck till I started to over take in third. I could hear his blow off valve each change, untill I passed him. I slowed down and waited for him up ahead, but he seemed very embarrassed and made no eye contact there after.

I noticed that the corolla can keep up wif a lot of turbo cars.

the vl turbo is a good match for the stivo in a straight line, they are :censor: and its damn hard to find one that will beat a stivo.

lucio_libre i challenge you to a race, i own a v6(its an auto tho :ffs: so the take of is :censor: ) after 70 its all over tho. and at 120 its pulling so hard  . its prob more responsive at 120 then 40(damn auto - always gears up into 4th, ALWAYS! :ffs: :ffs: )

This morning on the way to work at around 6am a new falcon XR6 Turbo pulls up to me at a set of lights on Springvale Rd. I look over and the drivers giving me that look - the one you give someone when you know your going to toast them. So I've returned his gaze and mouthed while pointing "Your going down", knowing perfectly well I was about to be murdered. Still I was going to take it like a man and go down fighting.

This guy has laughed and then reved his engine.... so I reved mine. I swear I could hear the old western gunfight music!

Lights turn green and we both jump from the line and I get traction (I must learn to do this more often). I take it right through to just before the rev limiter & slam it into 2nd and revs drop to 6000 and the stivo just keeps pulling like a mother :censor: .

He slams it into 2nd and I can see he has noticed my nose is still sitting by his door. He's not use to 8000rpm in his right ear. I slam 3rd, revs staying over 6000, and can see his getting anxious as he aint really pulling that much away. He bounces of his rev limiter a few times and then grinds a gear changing to 3rd allowing me to gain back some ground putting my nose back on his door. I'm screaming over the top of my engine "I'm still here :censor: ".

Then the enivitable happens and his superior grunt starts to ease him away. Fun over I back off!!

Next set of lights he does not even look at me deciding he did not want to play anymore.

I sit there with a big smile and realise sometimes Big Game Hunting is not about your nose being in front, but instead the look of horror in the eyes when they see your still there! When this panick causes them to bounce of the rev limiter and screw gear changes it's as sweet as any victory :D :D :D

I luv driving to work!!!

:lol::lol: you funny *****, thats good stuff, especially when they crunch gears. Soo much for Australia's best muscle car, with an engine more than double the size and a turbo on top of that.:lol:

Paul,

Hitting that 2nd cam phase right when hes looking beside, yuh! That sweet sharp rush of revs up top really gets em' mad..

I've had a few ppl be really abusive towards my car, for example the other day, I passed a 318i in hi-cam on the FWY and he got up-set and chased me all the way near my home and started calling out "Your car's ****. I have Class - looking tuff" (I waited for him thats how he caught) out the window. I laughed and said "Race ME"... Catch ya. Like that I was gone..

Yeh... I know what your talking about 2ZZ-GE Sportivo regarding car snobs!

As I was saying on sunday most people at my work drive Mercs and BMW's and constantly have a go at me about my rolla. They think its kinda pathetic that I luv my $30K Toyota.

The funny thing is, though I liv 20km further than anyone alse from work, every morning I arrive with a big :D while they are moaning and grumbling about traffic. If thats what class does.... no thanx!!!

And best of all that smile is not leased for $1000 a month. All I can say to them is :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

With the Sportivo being able to hold itself up against sub 8 second cars such as the XR6 Turbo, do you think Toyota has under rated the 0-100km/h of the Sportivo at 8.2 secs? Maybe to avoid shame on the slowmo Camry Sportivo?

Yes AaronNg Toyota has fudged the figures fot the sportivo, but not because of the camry but instead the Celica.

The Celica is their hero car and as such do not want a $12,000+ cheaper car having the same figures. Would be very hard to then sell celica's.

A car mag in New Zealand with very little practice has done a 7.6s 0-100 time, and it is very much a car you need experience with to get its full potential. They also weighed the car with a full tank of fuel & passengers finding it was over 30kg lighter than Toyota's specs stated.

hi all, i had a go with current XR6 non turbo and won, i thought i rock myself and it was the other way around, i pretty sure it is an auto, i find the cts is fast and there is torque download, due to the !Removed! wheel spins with only 2000rpm clutch dump but i wish it would have a higher cutout and lower lift range like those old honda crx

Posted

I took on a VS commo tonite, a !Removed! waz briving it :lol: and by the time i hit lift in second i waz gone, i :censor: love it, it's like they stand still :D . I was also practicing my launches, i did one from 5000rpms and burnt the clutch a bit coz i smelled it big time, is that normal? i dont know coz im only new to driving manuals. I released the clutch didnt take my foot off it quick, so i got no wheelspin, it just catapulted.

Yeh, its normal. However, your clutch will be toasted if u do it too often. mmmmmmmm the smell of burnt clutch and rubber.

one of my better (only had a few runs so far) story happened a while back. just got back from the movies with two other mates in the car. was at the lights when a VS S-spec pulled up next to me. lights turned green, i took off slowly cause i didnt expect the other guy to have a go at my stivo. once i heard his engine revving a bit and saw his car next to mine i slammed my foot down in 2nd gear all the way till cut off and change to 3rd with hi-cam still on. i hit about 130, with the other car wayyyy behind in my rearview mirror, and i had 3 people (inc myself) in the car while the Vs had the driver only. cos i know there's quite a bit of speed cams around that road i eased off the accelerator and just let the car cruise. the other driver caught up with me eventually and tried to be a funny man by waving his wallet around pretending to be an undercover cop. with a number plate 'WIKIDI' we find it rather amusing on his attempt to be a cool loser.
