Insurance Problems!

I'm having real trouble insuring my Aygo. I got my registration statement through yesterday with the reg number and I've got to send it back, but it needs an insurance cover letter. Unfortunately, the reg number isn't being accepted by anybody online or over the phone. Anybody got any ideas what could be up or what I could do? Thanks.

i had similar problems when i first got my aygo last year in june, have you just typed the reg number on dvla to see what car comes up under that reg number, also give Mr. T a call. I mean the number plate they gave me was for a corrolla and so that was just wrong, a quick call to them will probably help.

Yeah I phoned them as soon as I had a problem and had to wait for them to phone back. They called back and didn't have a clue what had happened but then somebody phoned again this morning about something different and told me I didn't need the reg number to buy insurance. But he was a bit of a :censor:

very well put, i believe you were being suttle there... but yes if the reg number is not correct just ask for a new one it takes a few days but you will be sure to get there in the end.

When you say registration statement do you mean from the DVLA or from Toyota telling you what the registration of your car will be?? If it's the latter the reason why it's not coming up online is that it won't be on the DVLA's system. You should be able to get insurance by searching on the car details on the insurance websites instead of the registration plate.

You can get an insurance quote but not buy insurance. That's where I was having the problems. But I spoke to a lady who knew what she was talking about and told me exactly what to ask for so it was all good in the end :) Just trying to work out the finance plans now...
