Smart, No Aygo

Well, it looks like I will be getting a SMART instead of an Aygo. I have been waiting for Toyota to make some sort of announcement about the release of the Aygo to the US market but haven’t seen or heard anything recently. SMART on the other hand has an active reservation system going which I signed up for.

I’m a little bummed out because I do like my Toyotas but the SMART is a pretty cool looking little car too. I’m looking at the SMART Fortwo Passion Cabrio in blue metallic with a gray tridion cell.

I'm currently running a Smart ForTwo Passion Cab and am getting rid of it as its not all it is cracked up to be (bearing in mind it's proce premium it does not feel like a premium product). Maybe the new model will achieve that, but I have been put off enough not to want a new one when I change my car later this year . . . .

I too worry about the quality so when they do their city tour here and it gets to NYC I will check it out. I put down a $99.00 refundable reservation fee so I am suppose to be able to test drive it before general availability to the public.

Costs about the same as in the UK which surprises me !

I looked at the smart car but it's hard to get a second hand one here in Scotland and even then it's usually in colours that really don't suit the car at all.

They seem to be becoming more and more commonplace down here - I guess the cost of running a car and the congestion on the roads is finally beginning to have an effect on what people buy!
