I thought that was only in contact with direct sunlight? and anyway, isn't K&N induction kit piping black as well? :P

If you take a temperature reading from inside the engine bay and inside the black plastic airbox after the engine has been left running for 5 minutes or so, you 'll find that it's cooler inside the airbox... which is why a conical air filter must be placed away from the engine bay, in a wheel arch etc etc to make most of the denser air

just my opinion m8, it's good to have two view points on something anyway
