Invalidate Warranty?

Recommended Posts

Some little ferret has bashed in my rear panel with a brick, and I was just wondering if anyone knew whether if I got it beaten back and resprayed by little local garage rather than proper Mr T one whether I'd be chucking my warranty out the window?

They've quoted me £500 to bash it out and respray it, or £1700 to replace the panel. I don't really want to lose my no claims over it, and my excess is £275 anyway, so if I can get it bashed out on the cheap, I'm all for that - even though it'll never have quite the same lovely curvy back end again!!

Sorry, no idea. The 12 year anti perforation corrosion warranty must have a lot of small print to check. Ask Mr T

It shouldn't affect the warranty on the car but you may get problems on the anti-corrosion one. To be honest I would go through your insurers for that and then you only pay the £275 (plus probably a bit of a raise in your premium). That way at least it's done with a warranty and stuff. Up to you in the end though.
