Exhausting

My Centre section fell apart just behind the rear box, and working for a garage, I thought we'd just hoist it up, and weld the hole... NAH, it was tatered, gone all around with no goo metal for 2-3 inches.

So we looked thru the trade books and found ONE manufacturer who made the centre section (The bit with 2 resonance chambers), then found a factor who could supply it... And it was the ONLY one they had in the country.

We could have searched further but our boss likes to use the same suppliers.

But the damned thing didn't fit, the 2 resonance chambers where MUCH wider, the bends are at the wrong angle, and one section is FAR too short... Thankyou Bosal, at 40 mins before we close.. We spent about an hour heating and bending, and got it almost right, but I stopped work simply by saying I DON'T NEED IT OVER THE WEEKEND, we can do it next week, but we have to modify the section to fit the car.

We all decided that the section was rubbish, and what if it had been a customers car that they'd needed for the hols.

Oddly enough, we have ANOTHER Celica in for MOT, which failed, but that's another post, and it's also locked up at work same as mine for the weekend :(

Hi i had the same problem with my GTR 4WS.

Someone hacked the mid section to bits and re welded it.

Had to get a new full stainless steel exhaust made.

Cost £250.00 which wasn't to bad as the mid section would have cost £160 plus vat from main dealer
