We have a E Reg Celica GT4 in for MOT, sorry, I'm not up with what version, but it's the 1980's angly shape, Mine is a 1991 GT-R 4WS Import, and is pretty much immaculate, but not A1.

This bloke is a t*sser, he wandered in leant on the counter, after dumping his car in the worst possible place to be in the way, and said "Celica".... "The electrics are playing up, and all the dials went out i've got no turbo, etc".. My Boss, who is very keyed up said "We've no slots until after Easter", then he said he had an MOT booked... Well done Cowboy, maybe you should have said that to begin with.. DOH.. He'd dropped it off a day early too.

Talking to the guys at work, it turns out he's spent £3000 odd on a respray for the thing, so I had a nosey, being a nosey bugger, and if that was a £3k respray, the body centre needs burning down, over the offside rear wheel arch is a 1' x 4 ' patch that looks like a sticking plaster sprayed over, it protudes by about 2-3MM, so is GLARINGLY obvious, the rear bumper is hanging low, the front valence is also hanging low on the nearside. The inside is a MESS.

He recons it's worth £5k, and he had tried in the past to PX his E Reg for my H Reg spotless import, but wanted £2000 in cash as well.

WHERE Do these people come from? His car is worth £400-600, Mine is Worth about £800-1200, YES I am also paying to repspray mine, but don't expect it to add to the value of the car, I am doing it for MY benfit, I don't expect to get the money back, and it will be to a MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better standard than his heap...

Oh, and his turbo don't work, I'm NOT the MOT tester, but drove the MOT Tester on the Accelleromter part of the test (It's a 4x4, the rolling road only has one axle), and mine goes FAR better without his decrpit turbo.

There are a few kicking about on eBay at the moment too... Might have to get one... Seems a shame to break one just for parts for my GTi though but I can't find one with a body as good as mine... Shame... Thought about transplanting the parts onto mine and making it a GT4 too but again it'll no longer be original... But as Jones said, they're really thin on the ground now...
