On the back of my current topic - Weird Noises

Does anyone now how much a new clutch & gearbox would be? Where can they be sourced?

What about TRD replacements?

Would any other toyota gearbox fit, Supra for example? (Apologies if i'm being stupid)

I agree with woody here fella!

Mine has always made a noise when you come off the power at high or low revs, if its noisy, and i mean like a metalic noise then get it checked out, my noise is the power being transfered through the gearbox and gives a kind of whining noise! I've been ragging the hell out of it since i've had it (jan last year) and it still feels as good as when i bought it! she is 03 with 37k on the clock!

So you can stop stressin out dude!

Hope that helps!

replaced mine a few weeks ago. Bigg difference was made by changing the thrust bearing, seriously reduced engine noise, when removed the old bearing was a lot more knackered than i expected for 50K. The plate probably had a few more miles in it, but had started to slip between lift engagment. The cover itself was fine, and probably didn't need replacing, but the effort is in the labour so we changed that too. For all three parts i paid 150+vat, from fensport. Just the standard replacements.
