Is it just my car or do all yaris's not have certain points/angles when you open the car door when it'll rest to stop it swinging open due to wind/incline? I had a near miss on a car park yesterday when it swung open unexpectedly.

any advice greatfully received.

it should have a check strap that connects the door to the body in between the top and bottom hinge

yeah that's there, it's just that there doesn't seem to be any 'points' when opening the door at which it comes to rest. think i'm going to pop down to my local Mr T and try another yaris out to check.

Hi, I may be a little late with this answer, but here goes!

The correct way of opening ANY vehile door, spesh. in windy conditions, is as follows....

use right hand to hold on to interior door grab handle, use left hand to pull door opening lever, still holding with right hand.

Done this way, the left opens, whilst the right controls the door movement without pulling you out of the seat!

This is correct and in accordance with dsa guidelines. If in doubt, ask a driving instructor. ( I am a trainee so know I am giving good advice).

Gar.
