Wheel's - Paint Bubbling And Powder Coating ?

Hi,

I forgot to post this at the time but remembered after the conversation about pads. Toyota are aware of a problem affecting RAV4 (possibly others as well?) wheels. Apparently during the fabrication a rough edge is left on the trailing side of each spoke and the paint finish is inadequate resulting in corrosion under warranty. They will replace them but ONLY under main warranty not extended warranty. Approach the issue now as opposed to later on.

This leads me onto the next question ... has anyone had a set of wheels powder coated on here and if so would you reccomend the place that did it ? I'd prefer not to end up with orange peel or crazed wheels and i've just got a spare set on the cheap so now seems like a perfect time to get a set done before winter.

For anyone that is interested i've had quotes that range from £30-50 per wheel done as close to OE silver as possible. I also now have a set of 03 and 55 wheels (yes that's 10 whels... not including the set i'm running). I'll report back with pic's once done.

The alloys on my previous two cars were noticeably pitted after 2/3 years. One difference I've noticed with the Rav4 alloys (on the 2006 model) is that the black brake dust just washes off, whereas it stuck firmly to the previous wheels (needed acid to get off, which I used once I realised the wheels were pitting anyway)!
