Air Filter Question

May be a stupid question but wot are the two sensors on the air filter and i was think of putting a universal filter on my car? do i need them connected?

It's the air sensor that tells the ecu how much air is going into the engine to know how much fuel to add, so yes you will need it, unless you want the engine warning light on all the time and no accelleration because the car thinks there's no air going in to the engine.

For the amount you'd pay for the universal filter, save up a bit more and get a decent kit. (apexi, hks, blitz or K&N)

Most universal one's won't have the hole in to fit the sensor.

or you could consider a performance panel filter to go in the normal box, the perfomance gains wont be as much as a full induction kit but the cost/convenience might be more favourable

bmc, green, blitz all do them for around £40-50
