Hi people

Got a problem with our mk1 yaris, The reversing light doesn't work!!

I've put a new bulb in the back and just fitted a new switch to the gear box to say when the cars in revers and still no joy :(

is there a separate fuse for the reversing light anyway or is there some thing I may of over looked ????

thanks in advance

plastic bracket that holds the metal pins in place may have broken? mine did and cost about £5 from mrT and dont listen to garages saying you need a whole new light assembly, i was nearly caught out!

just fixed the problem :D

thanks for pointing me in the right direction Rickster

just been out with a meter to go through the electrical circuit

checked the new switch in the gear box we fitted that worked fine

tested the plug on the rear light cluster that worked fine

tested the bulb that was fitted that worked fine

tested it when in the bulb holder that was fine

checked all the wire in the light cluster thats was fine

put it all together nothing didn't work

I swapped the plastic bulb holders round ( 1 from the fog light ) that worked woo hoo

after much swapping bulbs around in the plastic holder I discovered that even though the bulb worked in the holders 1 didn't when you put it back in cluster

with a bit of bending the contact tabs that touched the bulb and cluster it now worked again
