How Do You Get The Mirror Off?

My brand new Yaris has a vibrating rear view mirror when I get to around 70mph. It has been to Toyota and they want to keep it for 3 days to look at it. They put a new mirror on it but it hasn't cured the problem. I believe that the windscreens come with the piece that you put the mirror onto already attached. I want to take the mirror off myself and have a look just to satisfy my curiosity. How do you do it :help:

I read a thread on here about a rattle which is cured by putting some sticky pads between the plastic grill that the wipers are attached to and the windscreen. This is interesting because I also have a rattle but it doesn't matter where I put pressure on the dashboard it stops. Even if I put my toe under the clutch pedal and apply slight pressure it stops. This is leading me to wonder if the rattle is the grill which is transferring it up the windscreen to the mirror. I have no idea but I do know I am getting pretty peed off with it all! :ffs:

The interior mirror just twist off its base with a bit of extra force. Then slide it off its base.

I doubt anyone could break it... unless they are really careless. Give it a try! Super Glue is always available if the worst happens :)
