Replace Audio In 2004 Avensis

Hi,

I'm fairly new to this site but loving the amount of information!

I've recently got a 2004 new shape Avensis 1.8 T3-S - although slightly worried by the excessive oil burning problem that seems common I'm pretty happy with the car. Time will tell if mine is affected as its only got 24k on it at the moment.

I would like however to put my single DIN Panasonic MP3 player into the car - I've ordered what I believe is a double-din fascia from Toyota but would appreciate any advice from anyone who's done this before?

My concerns are:

a) How to get the old stero out - theres a lot of trim to remove I understand! A far cry from my old Ford where the stereo could be pulled out with a single finger!

B) With the sat nav still work OK with an aftermarket stereo?

c) Is there a commonly available ISO adaptor available? I've asked a couple of local motor factors but they only seem to have them listed for the older shape Avensis.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Snakey - somewhere there have been quite a few topics on this in the past 12 months or so. Try a search of the Avensis forum and see what turns up.

Have a look at this in the audio section.

Ah thats the stuff I'm looking for, thanks. I've ordered that double din fascia unit from Toyota but I haven't seen it yet. Still haven't found any info on potential effects on the sat nav but I can always be the volunteer and report back!

How much was the facia?

I haven't collected it yet so I'm not sure its eactly what I want, but Toyota were quoting £28.41 plus VAT - I'll report back next week on how it goes, assuming I can find an ISO adaptor!
