Tailgate Gas Struts

I posted earlier on this topic as i had creaking noises when opening the boot which started to get on my nerves. WD40 was a very short term solution (less than 1/2 day) and grease and oil only a bit better.

So a very helpful forum member recommended SGS Engineering (UK) Ltd

Unit 2, Coburn Place

Newland Street

Derby

DE1 1JT

Telephone: 0845 880 12 55

Fax: 01332 366232

mail: andy@sgs-engineering.com

Web Address: www.sgs-engineering.com

I have no connection with this company whatsoever but found them very helpful and supplied two new gas struts for next day delivery for £76. Fitting took 10 minutes, and although the struts are slightly different ball end joints, they were actually easier to fit than the standard Toyota ones with the annoying clips. I think it was only one strut that was faulty, but felt it better to replace both as otherwise i may have put undue stress on the new strut. No more creaking !

Nice one.

With all the horror stories of costs and poor service it's really refreshing to read of a satisfied customer now and then.

I used this company for the Sera door struts a few years back. I don't know how many places actually offer a regas service, but they were a great find.

Glad you're sorted !
