Ive noticed over the last fortnight that my Aygos ABS is in my opinion overly sensitive .I still believe that the car has brilliant brakes in the dry on a clean surface .However on even slightly damp, greasy roads or with even the slightest amount of gravel/pebbles on the surface the ABS kicks in alarmingly easy.Ive had a couple of major scares as a result of this -now that I think of it the ABS activating by itself shouldnt be a problem, but it seems to release the brakes for a terribly long time .

If youve driven an abs equipped car on ice or compacted snow you;ll know what I mean -its as if youve no brakes at all.I dont fancy the thought of driving an Aygo on ice or wet grass etc.

Ive driven many cars both abs and non abs equipped for well over 10 years .Anybody elseexperience this?

I've had ABS activate on the Aygo, but then recognised I was going too fast for the conditions.

If you are driving on gravel, damp roads etc and you know the ABS is sensitive adapt your driving style to prevent ABS activating.

I agree with the above.

ABS should not be used as an excuse for poor driving.

You are the only thing that controls the car.......................all the other systems are there to assist YOU

(The NUT that holds the steering wheel) ;)

when it was icy last year iv had the wheels lock a few times on ice/snow. so its kinda bad on ice, i had to resort to useing the gears to break a few times.

i have found that it does kick in a bit when you go over bumps and potholes. however its good other wise.

I have a lot of headache when I have to make some emergency brakes with my Aygo. Especialy on a wet road or when I run into some bumps or potholes. The ABS kicks in and release the wheel, and I'm pretty sure it shouldn't do that!!!

My ABS kicks in too early. It's like too senzitive, especialy when it gets tricked by holes and bumps!

i must say my abs kicked is too easily, but at least it works, cant really complain. I still think its well worth its price although toyota could have sold them for cheaper as the costs to them were minimal.
