Hi All,

not sure if this has been covered before have tried the search facility and didnt find anything.

I need some advice please :)

I have a 2000 model year corolla fitted with the 1.6 vvt-i engine 3z code.

I have removed the engine as it has a nice conrod sticking out the block and another nestled in the sump...

Im thinking about getting the 1.8 vvt-i 1z engine as these are more easier to find second hand, does anyone know if this will be a exact like for like install ie using exisiting wiring loom etc are the gearboxes the same?

I like the idea of a few extra ponies just weighing up my options.

all advice very much appreciated :)

regards

nick

the only prob you may have is the ecu. the immobilizer is built in so not too sure how it would work. you will need the loom and ecu from the doner engine too as well as mounts and possibly gearbox. other than that yes it will go in.
