Gen 7 Alarm Fault

Hi,

Wonder if someone may be able to help re alarm keeps going off for no reason. What I have noted is that when I lock the car with the key, every 5-10 mins. there is a series of beeps coming from the car somewhere. I assume that if the alarm was armed, this is what is causing it.

I am aware that if any metal object is in the centre console, this could affect the alarm, but this is all clear.

I had trouble with the alarm going off when it was anyway windy or if it was really cold outside. After trying all the standard things like removing metal objects from console etc., I found if I closed the air vents and particularly the two center ones it stopped going off.

It only did it for about half an hour after driving so either the engine cooled down and hot air stopped coming through the vents and activating the internal sensors or the electrics settled down.

Haven't had any trouble with it for about 3 months now but I keep the center vents closed most of the time if it looks like the wind will get up.

I've had the same issue with my 2007 Yaris. The alarm causes the horn to beep 7 times (7 short quick beeps). I've taken it back to the dealer and they can't find anything wrong with the alarm they installed...

I'm about to just get rid of the damn alarm if this keeps up...

Anyone have any ideas of what is going on?
