Hi all,

Picking up my nearly new Aygo Sport 5 Door in Crystal Silver next Friday, i've got some new Oz Superturismo GT's on order already with 195/45/16 tyres on them...anyone else got these wheels or this tyre size on their Aygo...???

If so are you having any problems with rubbing...???... :)

Really like the forum, getting loads of tips and handy information...thank you

Might have been better to go for 40's but I'm not sure.

With those on you will be doing 73.11 mph at an indicated 70 mph. 40 would have given a bit more clearance and real speed would be 70.67 mph.

No personal experience on this though so wait for the wise ones to comment . . . . . .

Nice rim BTW

I have these on order:

Hi,

Yes, SMW is correct about the tyre size. I have some Superturismo's which I tried on my beast.

Even with a ET37 fiment, the tyres rub on the inner arches on between three quarters and full lock.

If you are buying them from a decent retailer, you should be able to get them to supply them with 195/40x16 tyres instead. It will probably cost you about £ 30-50 extra.

One word of advice though. Try to fit tyres with a rim protection bead. I fitted my freshly refurbished wheels and within a week I was forced off the road by a tractor on a country lane, and just caugh a curb. The tyre sidewall got trashed, but the wheel was ok. It could of been expensive if I hadn't fitted them.

Once I have worked out how to use my new camera, and upload pictures, I will let you all have a look.

Cheers

Thank you for that top info, I'm getting a free set of Toyo's...but I really need to get the 195/40/16's by the sounds of things.

What tyres do you have on your Super T's Timcrasher...???

Thank you SMW, they are v nice...i've been after getting a set of Superturismo's for years.

Your choice of Oz's are nice to...what size you going for...?

I've got Dunlop SP9000 XL tyres. They are not cheap, and I wouldn't have chosen them other than the fact that I got them cheap through my racing contacts.

Toyo Proxes T1R's seem to be the best compromise between price and longevity. With the Aygo being such a light car, even sticky tyres will last.

I just find that the tyres, ( but probably my "entusiastic" driving style ), outperform the suspension, and the inside rear wheel lifts quite easily on roundabouts :D , so that one should last longer than the rest.

It is also worth getting the wheel alignment checked if changing the wheels, as the larger contact patch of the new tyres, works the suspension and ball joint a little harder, so any misalignment could lead to premature wear.

Cheers

I'm going 15 as she is already on factory springs plus I think cosmetically (sp) 16's are just a bit too big but it's all down to personal taste of course

Hey!

I got the OZ Ultraleggera on my Aygo with Toyo Proxes in 195/40/16. And I don't have any problems, it is with an offset 37. I was wondering, does anyone know if it is okay to lower the car? I am thinking more like if it's rubbing against somewhere on the car? I have been looking at H&R lowering kit.

My car can be seen here. http://www.bilgalleri.dk/html/gal_visbil.asp?ID=60647

Hope som one can help.

Looks like i'm gonna have to settle for 15's, the jump from a 45 profile to a 40 profile is £100 for the 16" Superturismo's...damn

Although I do have an alternative of a16" Wolfrace Lion Heart wheel that looks very similar to an Oz Superturismo, and can get a 195/40/16 tyres or a Momo Corse 16" 195/40/16's with Toyo T1R's. They both cost the same as Superturismo 15's...ummm tough one....what do you reckon...???
