Ok, I think I have found myself some rev3 rear lights to put on my rev1. ( the colours a bit bright, so prob have to get the bodyshop to paint it the same colour as me motor ).

I have a question though...

the chap says..

"Also, the rear lights are sold as is, and therefore any missing parts must be purchased separately at extra cost. Typically from past sales, the lights are missing the lock/barrel mechanism and sometimes dont come with mounting brackets."

So, am I able to use the existing lock barrel mech ? If it is missing the barrel and mounting brackets, how much are these gonna set me back ??

Also, does anyone know how to install rev3 lights on a rev1 car? ? Any info greatfully received !!

thanks for any advice. :)

question.. paint before I put it on.. or after I put it on ??

Also... I get the feeling you don't like Mr Toyota mate.. lol

Will do mate.. It dones't look that hard to tell you the truth.

Need to go buy a socket set though by the looks of it.

I can live with a small gap where the lock is.

The locking mechanism is built into the boot so that would stay the same !!, mounting brackets should eb available from a decent breakers like Toyota Celica Breakers....

I just phoned toyota querying the rev 3 rear lights...

they said for each side and the centre panel it would be roughly £200.

Now that seems a bit cheap does it not ?? ( I asked him this ).

he said, that's for the very latest MR2 MKII design rear lights. So I assume they are the right ones...

anyone else wanna phone and query ?? 01314537700 << In Edinburgh.

If you do, let me know what price they say. Would be interesting to see if you get the same price or not.

All the same I'm getting mine end sept.
