Hi there,

My Avensis also needs a new rear wiper, as the rubber is peeling away. I had it in for a service earlier in the week, but it has to back on Monday for new tyres and for the blade to be fitted (they have to order the part in). It might be worth seeing if your local dealership can do it for you, although I imagine they'll be more expensive!

The wiper arm is held on by a 10mm nut which is covered by a plastic shroud. Simply place your fingers either side and underneath the shroud and ease outwards until it unclips. If your cut to size blade still doesn't fit, use a genuine Toyota replacement rubber with your old metal side runners, which should be ok.
