Update and Fixed hopefully.

Cooling system not pressurised due to air in system.

(1) air lock in radiator overflow tube to coolant reservoir tank.

(2) a lower level of coolant in reservoir tank. ie not to the FULL mark.

I have tested the car on a 20 mile drive and still ok.

The cooling system is a closed circuit pressurised system. The coolant level was low in the coolant tank and I had an air lock in the hose between the radiator/pressure cap and the coolant bottle. When the system heated up to 100degC the required pressure was lost to "air" in the expansion tank, results in low pressure and lower working temp.

How to fix.

Leave rad. pressure cap on and fill coolant/expansion tank with coolant to the brim. Open the rad. drain tap and allow to drain and draw coolant from the coolant tank. When coolant down to the correct FULL mark, (on the side of the tank) tighten the drain tap.
