I've had Corolla for more than 4 years from new and radio reception has deteriorated very badly recently. Renewed aerial but no difference.

Is this common and any ideas?

Althought you changed the ariel, is the connection good as well.

Last time i changed my H/U, i found the wires in the connector rather loose, so a quick rewire soon sorted it out, and better reception.

Hi and welcome to TOC

I pretty much accepted the bad reception in my rolla but now I think I'll do what man-bing suggests and check the cabling behind the dash.

My reception with the stock radio is fine. But wen i put on my Alpine headunit, it doesnt seem to get very good reception, ive owned 2 alpine headunits now and both were and r rubbish with reception.

I'm not saying i get great reception, but it's ok.

This is my 3rd Alpine i've put in my rolla, each been about the same, meaning ok, but then again, i don't listen to the radio that much in the car, only at work

With built in radio etc unit, how do you remove this to check rear connections for radio
