Blowing Fuses

Just passing on my recent gathered knowledge.

My car was blowing fuses (15A) for the touch screen sat nav, clock display, climate control dispay and cigarette lighter. I replaced the fuse (behind the glovebox) and turned the ignition on and pop it went again. I then disconnected the cigarette lighter and replaced the fuse, everything then kicked in when the ignition was turned on. After investigating the cigarette lighter holder the illumination which sits around the metal casing, was cracked (due to pulling and putting in my ipod charger) and where the illumination was meant to be touching the earth on the holder casing by a small copper wire it was touching the live, thus blowing the fuse.

JOB COMPLETE
