Need Some Advice Please

Hi all

The windscreen in my car was replaced before I purchased it from a dealer couple of months back, and I didn't notice at the time that the trim had been cut by the fitter so it no longer fitted correctly nor the scuttle panel...didn't actually think to go and look at other models! Anyway whilst driving along recently the trim came off on the A pillar so I dropped in to the dealer to see what could be done - all new trim including scuttle panel was suggested & agreed, however when I went to collect the car only the A pillars had been done and the scuttle panel hadn't, presuming Toyota felt it too excessive and I was fobbed off with the "doesn't cause a problem mate"

As it stands Toyota reckon the scuttle panel doesn't need doing even though it doesn't meet the windscreen anymore, so my question is this (I know Dav's fits across the screen snugly) do any of you suffer the same trim problem at the base of the windscreen in that it doesn't fit to the screen all the way across? And also could it cause a problem if it doesn't fit? And as the car is only a couple of months with me so far should I accept it or not?

done - all new trim including scuttle panel was suggested & agreed, however

do you have that in writing or any widness who can confirm. if so go back and don't leave till fixed...

Nothing in writing unfortunately, and I can argue until I'm blue in the face but if they won't budge...however my main concern is that the trim/scuttle panel doesn't seem to fit and I wonder what could happen if I leave it.

If it doesn't fit it hasn't been put back properly. Either have a go yourself, take it to your local garage or back to the dealer that sold it to you.

On a 4.3 it can be a problem because the risk of water entering the heater intake is increased but I couldn't be sure on yours.

Either way you want it to look right.
