I Have A Big Problem With Wind!

Have just bought a high mileage (105,000) V-reg Avensis hatchback. Mechanically it seems great and drives really well, but...

There's wind noise coming from the back somewhere as soon as you go over about 45 and it gets louder and LOUDER as you go faster! There's no obvious place where it is getting in and I can't afford Toyota prices to get the whole back end of the car checked out, so...

Does anyone out there have any suggestions on likely places to look for gaps - are there known places where I might start looking, or has anyone had any similar problems and managed to fix them?

I know it seems trivial but stuff like that can get very tiring on a long journey unless you drown it out with the stereo!

Thanks

I have had the rubber door seals replaced on the previous old shape Avensis some years ago when I complained about wind noise I don't know if this is the cause of your wind noise

Good news! Following some advice I came across online, I sealed up the likely area using masking tape and took the car for a drive...have now pinned down noise coming from poorly fitted rear passenger quarter window.

I had been told by the previous owner that this was a long-term issue, so it seems like Toyota didn't fit it correctly in the first place! Now just have to figure out a cheap way of sealing the gap...
