Upgrades From Toyota

Hey,

I'm thinking of popping into a Toyota dealer sometime and asking about upgrades for my 2002 Yaris 1.0l Colour Collection. What kind of upgrades can I get?

Ideally, I'd love AirCon fitting and Remote Central Locking, a bonus would be electric mirrors and SatNav but i'm not bothered about them really. Also, If you know, what kind of price might I be looking at for each?

PS: I realise I could get a 3rd party Remote central locking kit, but to be honest, I just don't trust them. I'd rather have Toyota work on my car than some dodgy garage with a dodgy 3rd party kit.

Thanks alot.

i'm sure aircon costs about 1k.

As for remote central locking find a decent garage with a good reputation and you'll be fine, and you could get a decent clifford alarm with remote central locking for the same price as what toyota could charge just for remote central locking.

Not all toyota dealers are good, you could get a bodged job.

Living in the wirral I hope you don't use lindops in Queensferry.

I don't think this is what you'll want to hear, but you'd be better off selling the car & buying another with a higher spec & those things already fitted, they cost a fortune to get done & will barely affect the resale value of your car at all so it will be a massive amount of dead money. Good luck though, whatever you decide

the aircon would be very expensive to get done

remote central locking shouldnt be too dear, just get a nice alarm that has that feature then youll get it plus youll have the bonus of a good alarm which may even reduce your insurance if its thatcham approved.

Funnily enough, I use them and they've been brilliant, especially concerning putting things right on my current car.

I know you had one heck of a time with them though.

As for retro-fitting. It can get very costly. Might be worth thinking of upgrading the Yaris itself, to be honest.
