To download things such as software (open source/freeware obviously) and videos (movie trailers etc ;) ) I use uTorrent. I used to use Azureus, but it's insistance on using something like 20% of my CPU and a big lump of RAM wore very thin (I haven't used it for maybe a year so I don't know if newer releases have improved/fixed this "problem"). uTorrent is a fully featured client but I think it takes up something in the region of about 50k of memory when running with active downloads

However I use uTorrent incredibly rarely as there are better sources out there.
