the standard headunit has 4 outputs so your options are

lose the 2 dash Speakers to gain the back ones

or

wire the 6 b 9s on to the same channel as the dash Speakers (wouldnt recommend)

i did the first option and worked well for me

ill try ave a look n see which wires turned out to be which so u no which to cut today

You can buy a cable that puts your dash and door Speakers on the same channel, leaving the second output free for you rears. I bought the cable myself but I haven;t got round to fitting rear Speakers. Partly coz i need to plug that goes into the back of the unit. Dont know of any other way.

Thanx for the help all. I ended up getting my brother to do it! lost the front ones but it does sound much better with the 6x9s in the back. hopefully i wont be able to hear them much when my exhaust system comes from envy :P

Best bet is go to toyota for wiring harness that links front Speakers to one channel and put the rears on the back one, far better and to be honest didnt loose that much power!

Glad you got it sorted!

My advice is don't use 6x9's

Get 2 sets of decent components, put 1 set in the rear shelf put the wires down each side to the kick panels just in front of the front doorspull that off and you'll find a white connecting block, the wires to the door Speakers go to this connector. Cut the wires and wire the side from the stereo to the input on the crossover you'll get with your components.

Take out the dash Speakers cut the cables coming from the stereo to the speaker and wire that to the crossover input for the front Speakers (i put mine under the front seats) add some cabling back up to the dash hole and make a 5mm mdf template (trial and error its an odd shape) for the tweeters, add your subs to the doors using the existing wiring as its a bit of a pain running cables through the rubber tube.

hope that helped/made sense. I posted some pics somewhere.

Imo As above but with just coaxials in rear to save money! no need for awesome sound quality in back! (but don't go too shoddy obviously!)

It's to do with the shape of the cone mate  not best for making good quality!

na mate i think it's because the actual shape! As in component or coaxial 6*9 would never be as good quality as a round speaker with the same surface area, magnet strength etc. Tbh with a good set of 6*9s though you can't go too wrong for everyday listening!
