hi im i n a bit of a pickle ive put new big end bearings in my car but have no torque settings fotr them and no garage is open on a banl holyday for a quick look at the old autodata can anyone please help???

Hi Dyl,

My Haynes Manual for a Carina E 7A-FE engine states a torque figure of 60Nm (44lbf ft) for the Main bearing cap bolts.

Sorry dyl,

Connecting rod big -end cap nuts/bolts from the same manual are :

Stage 1 - 25Nm (18lbf ft)

Stage 2 - Angle- tighten a further 90 degrees
