Horsepower

Besides adding a bigger turbo, what are some mods that can add horsepower besides an exhaust and an intake?

To get bigger BHP you need to increase the amount of air and petrol going through the engine in a given time.

To do this you can either add more volume to the engine (increasing stroke, adding more pistons) or increasing the amount of air flow and petrol into the engine (increasing boost, more dence air).

There are also other ways like increasing the combustion of the fuel (NO2) or making the engine more efficient (lightened fliwheels).

So the easy ways are :

Exhaust and filter, to allow easier flow through the engine

Upping the boost on the turbo (or new turbo)

Improving the efficiency of the intercooler (new one or like the ST205 - charge cooler)

Water/Methanol Injection (increases combustion and makes the air more dense)

Stroker kit (pistons and cams)

Overbore (inc new pistons)

NO2 injection

Using Shell Optimax

Lightened flywheel, pulleys etc (to make the inertia on the engine less)

That's all I can think of now .. :D

Obviously some of these would need a new ECU.

I think the best would be : Apexi filter and H&S exhaust (and de-cat), a GT4 Charge cooler, Water/Methanol injection, lightened flywheel, stroker kit, forged pistons, a Dual VVTi head (off an Altezza), a GT35 turbo and a MoTec ECU ..

got about 10k ?

Ahh, forgot about injectors :D

My route will be big turbo, injectors and MoTec. Water injection and a custom IC.

Not really aiming for huge bhp, just wanting a massie fat torque curve.
