Seatbelt Light

hey guys

ive got a yaris GS, when i turn on the ignition, all the dash lights come one then go out one by one. i noticed a few days ago theres seatbelt warning light.

i undid my seatbelt the other day whilei was driving (dangerous i know) and got my passenger to do the same, but it did not light up.

have i got a problem? or is it only for higher models?

Didn't think there was a seatbelt warning light on the yaris, are you sure it's not the airbag light.

Seatbelt warning lights are only fitted on later models of Yaris as untill recently they were not a legal requirement.

The New Yaris also has a warning bleeper on drivers and passengers seatbelts.

The passenger light only illuminates when there is someone sitting in the seat and both bleepers only sound after the car is moving (5 MPH +) without the seat belts engaged. The bleeping gets more insistant after 15 -20 seconds.

And before anyone asks I tested this function OFF ROAD ;)

ive got the zinc if me or my passenger dont wear them it lights up and beeps untill we put them on, dono if thats anny help

I believe the light is the airbag warning light, it does look like a seat belt (when you turn on igntion)

If it looks like this then its the SRS Warning Light. The phase 1 Yaris and face lifted models don't have what you are talking about. Not sure on the 'new' Yaris

I could be mistaken.

It could be a “Check for a pregnant women in your front seat” warning light or “Who ate all the pies” warning!

haha ive been looking at the picture completely wrong, i thought it was a straight on view of someones head, with a kid peering over thier shoulder (with no belt on)
