Springs

Hello all,

I have a 98 Avensis 1.8 GS. I broke a front coil spring this morning and was just wondering if a set from a 2.0 Avensis would fit alright or would they be too strong???

Thanks for your help.

the kerb wait between them is only about 40kg, so I guessing the springs are all the same, but dont just replace one, do them both, or get a set of Eibach only about £170 a set of 4, which is probles cheaper than 1 spring from toyota.

Thanks Hairibo,

I got two complete struts from another 1.8 avensis so I'll put them in for now. Are the Eibach springs a good job? Do they lower the car at all?

The avensis is a fantasic ride as you know, the Eibach springs lower 35mm, you loose a bit of the comfort, but it still rides nice than most standard cars, you just no longer feel like you are on a cusion, it takes bends much better and feels more together at high motorway speeds, oh and you aslo ghet the added benefit of a more sporty look.

They work with the standard struts fine.

Oh nearly forgot, Eibach made the springs for TTE, the company that supply ply thr proformance upgrades to toyotas dealers. So you could go to your dealer get a set of TTE stamped Eibachs for silly money or buy plan eibachs from any place like demon tweeks ripspeed etc.

also Remus Exhaust makes the TTE exhausts too!
