My Air Con seems to have taken a sulk with me. The green light on the switch is on but nothing happens when pressed. Could it be something as simple as a fuse? If so where do I start looking and what is the A/C marked as in the fuse boxes. Any help would be greatfully accepted as I haven't a clue.

Thanks.

Could be fuse, relay or clutch on the compressor or even the belt has snapped....

might need regassing, you can get a DIY regas kit from Halfords, its called EZ Chill, check out eBay as well.

if its the townace you have the "low" port is where you top up from which is just under the expansion bottle. its a small tap coming off of a pipe, it has a black dust cap on it.

very easy to do yourself, good luck :))

have someone flick it on mate and watch what the compressor does. If the gas was low the light usually blinks on the switch .If you do regass it yourself the LOW port has an L on top of the cap , the high likewise has H on top of it , i did my surf and it ate 1 full tin easily , the cans from Halfords do have a gas tester with the can to test just how much is in the system , might be worth testing it 1st before buying a tin . i'm just up the road if you want to try mine as i have the testing pipe.

Thanks for the help. It would appear that by not using it during the winter the gas escapes and this triggers a safety cut out so it will not switch on. Regassed and working no bother. Thanks again.
