What the hell is a spitter/splitter?

a type of front spoiler.

old spoilers used to just smooth the airflow under the front bumper. some had ducting for cooling the front discs.

a splitter smoothes the air flow and redistributes it at the same time via crafted slats and ducts.

A good one will work like front wing and create extra downforce. A bad one will just make the average car shape ("aerofoil in reverse") behave even worse as it will be pushing the front down too much whilst the drag is lifting the rear of the car off the road.

like rear wings they don't do much for a car below 70-80mph so are pretty much a waste of time unless you drive like a looney on public roads or you are taking it racing. :!Removed!:

they do however give hours of endless fun polishing out the scuff marks from sleeping policemen. :D

Cheers, I thought they were all just called spoilers!

I found an old thread on here, and a Guy Fitted a Laguna splitter, looks pretty smart, so at least I know that'll fit.
