T Sport Compressor

Have I just made a somewhat bad mistake? went into my TOYOTA DEALER for a short visit on technical matter and came out with a new T sport compressor,I currently have a RAV 4 D4D which I no longer tow with and was surely tempted,I did not have time to research the COROLLA although over the years they have made good cars to own,I have read some less than optimistic reviews on the compressor model so I feel it might be a mistake.Having built a Caterham 7,owned a WRX IMPRETZA,countles MEXICOs /RS 2000s,many more specialist models, the Tsport felt superb to drive and is in the old RS mold am I missing the point or as usual is it the journalists writing crap again, incidently when fazing out the MK 1 MEX they reduced the price £200 to shift old stock everyone wanting the new model, the MEX is now like hens teeth to find, someone convince th TSPORT was a good choice???? hold on - you bought the car because you thought it felt great

you've had a CAT7 / WRX / RS 2000 (so plenty of driving experience there) ... then u drove a supercharged CTS and liked it, your own words were "the Tsport felt superb to drive".

Who gives a flying F what the reviews say, i used to believe them but dont anymore because i just dont agree with them after driving the cars myself. They say stupid stuff like the car x doesnt handle as well yet you'd have to push it round a corner at idiotic speeds to find that one out. THe plastics aren't as good a quality in car y... i think as long as it doesnt look like crap and the buttons aren'T falling off or have gaps who cares. It's like a CD player, who cars what the buttons are made of as long as the !Removed! thing plays when you press it - the music is what your interested in.

Some car reviews are stupid and mark some cars out of the market with irrelevant information. Some reviewers dont even drive the cars and some base their opinions on marketing material.

The only thing compressor is bad at is fuel economy, but what do you expect from a car that goes from 0-60 in 6 sec. Oh and drive it in the wet and watch it struggle to get the power down, you will see the beautiful orange slippery road light flash like a mad thing as the traction / VSC tries to calm the situation down. And the fact that it is a toyota that orange LED will be the first thing to go. :D

Well done mate, did similar myself looking for t-sport, thought have a good look at a new one, went to dealers and came away with year old compressor for less than a new t-sport, I had the same innitial reaction having then looked at reviews but having had the compressor 2 months now I love it!, a bit heavy on fuel but my previous 20v import wasn't exactly frugal, plus they're meant to be driven. Enjoy.

I have a black Compressor and love it despite it not gripping in the wet

We did try to find if they kept a build number or logged each conversion but it seems not. It's till a rare car whichever way you look at it.
