Was Involved In An Accident Tonight...

Sat stationary in a queue of traffic with a mondeo en ftone of me and a white van in front of that.

There is a minor road to the left of the white van where a red civic is waitng to pull out, the white van leaves enough of a gap for him to come through between him and the car in front.

As he comes out he obviously cant see to his left and coems otu regardless and hits an oncoming vehicle from the side which send him out of control. :!Removed!:

The oncoming car then hits the car in front of me from the side and bounces of and then hit me from the front drivers side corner! :ffs:

To say that it all happend in slow motion is an understatement. I could see the russian driven civic waiting to join the road and as soon as he came out i thought he is taking a risk and then i see a white pug 106 heading towards the car in front out of controll and then in slow motion hit my car as i was stationary!

Nafisa was sat in the passenger seat and a cousin was sat in the rear. I just straight away looked to her to ensure she was alright...

She said she had some pain in her chest but not in her belly.. the impact was hard but not really bad ... it was wet hence he had no chance of stopping and 4 cars ended up being involved. His car ended up in my bumper. :censor:

Damage is on the drivers side front corner. bumper/wing/bonnet/lights/foglight...

Car is worth about £2.5k so i was told by the chap who picked the car up that it might be written off. I actually hope it is write off as i dont want the car back fixed up.

Glad to see your ok Fizz, and Nafisa.

Was a bit dodgy coming out when you cant see :!Removed!: Idiots tbh! Do you mean he had to come out really wide and ended up on other side of the road? or did he want to turn right?

Really sorry to hear this but the main thing is you & your passengers were ok in the circumstances, did the other drivers/passengers seem to be reasonably ok or didn't you look at the time? Hope the car is written off as you want it to be & you get your money easily enough

Firstly thanks for the comments people... much appreciated..

I was actually looking to get rid of it within the next 2 weeks so it better be written off as a crash repaired car will be worth less. HPI checks will pick up on that im sure.

Well once it goes to the repair centre i might give them a ring myself and find out what they reckon to the cost of repair.

Do you think they will help me out by making sure everything that needs to be replaced it bought from the most expensive sources? Better chance of it being written off... :!Removed!:

Sorry to hear about the accident. Glad Nafissa is OK, give her my love, and of course that your other passenger was un harmed! :) Accidents do happen but maybes he should have been a tad more careful to say the least. I never take any offer to 'go on through' - just dont trust other drivers to make a decision for me

Hope you get your own way with the insurance......oooooooooo maybe another Toyota in the offing?????????

Cheers Anne... wont be another toyota... looking at a Bora 1.6 or Tdi next depending on my financial situation.

And yeah.. Nafisa seems ok but she has a physio appointment today for her back anyway so she will tell him what happend so he can check her out.

:( Hope you get it sorted either way mate, I have a queue every morning to work and that senario could happen everyday. Some people think they own the road and it's everyone elses job to look out for them!

Cheers for the b'day wishes BTW.

Amy.

Glad to hear you guys are alrite.

My mate got had of his bike in town last summer. Turned out this women was from Eastern Europe originally, but was an American Diplomat!

Thought this made an exception to our traffic laws, and tried to turn right out of a road, which is a left-turn only!

Went to court the other week (finally), and he won the case. Now the settlement fight begins...

Anyway, I ramble.

Again, glad to hear you're and everyone else are ok dude.

UPDATE:

I have just had a phone call from an insurance company that represents the initial Russian speaking civic driver and they have accepted liability for the repairs of all the cars involved.

They have also arranged for a hire car for me which will be dropped off with me today. Will be allowed to run it till I either get my car back repaired/cheque gets sent for it if it’s a write off.

After speaking to the repair centre i have told them that in an ideal world i would like the car to be written off as I don’t like the thought of driving a repaired motor. Never feels the same in my book.
