Impossible To Hit Lift In 1st-2nd Gear

After countless attempts of trting to connect the lift in 2nd from 1st Ive tested the gearing in my facelift version and it seems that 1st redlines at 42-43mph which is fine....So then you change to 2nd as quickly as possible and i find the revs drop to about 5,900rpm.

2nd gear however i noticed doesnt hit the sweet spot of 6,200rpm untill about 46-47mph.

All other changes up from this and it seems to fall over the 6,200rpm line.

So it seems i can never keep the car going in the "zone".

Does every1else hit the lift from 1st to 2nd?

Its is possible!!! Its difficult and you have to be extremely fast.

You need to jump on the clutch as soon as you hit the max rev in 1st gear. Don't let the car bounce off the limiter, if its bouncing your chances of hitting 2nd with lift are reduced. Changing must be done as fast as possible, and I found when releasing the clutch its quite a good idea to give it a tiny bit of rev, so when the clutch engages the revs are still high. Not too much rev or you'll be smoking clutches!

It can only really be done on a flat road, or going down hill (obviously). Uphill and your likelyhood of hitting it in second is dam near impossible. I've never succeded.

Your other option is to purchase a quick-shift kit. That will reduce the throw quite nicely to engage the car back on the clutch in lift without having to put a bit of rev on (tho don't qoute me on it)

I must say i cant bear to hit mine so high for the sake of getting lift in 2 consecutive gears...

I prefer to gain lift, drop lift and gain lift all over again just to feel the kick up the backside!

i agree, to feel the kick is really good but for sole purposes of 0-60mph or quick getaway it gets annoying...

as i said i tried it and slowly goin up in 1st right up to 8,200rpm and not bouncing of the limiter and then changing quickly to 2nd still no joy...
