Compressor Dipstick Problem

First of all let me say hello to everyone on the corolla forum, I used to own a Yaris T-Sport but have now moved up a few notches to the corolla compressor and I'm really enjoying it. :D

That said however I have noticed that the oil dipstick is working it way out of the tube, this seems to happen only at higher rpm say over 6000ish. I first noticed it a few months ago and took the car the my Toyota dealer, they ordered a new dipstick which seemed to cure the problem, but it has now stated again. I assume because the rubber O ring wears over time. Basically if I take the car for a spirited drive at higher rpms say around 7500rpm for a few a gear changes when i get back the dipstick will have worked its way out about an inch, just enough for the O ring to stop sealing.

My Toyota dealer are not sure why and the Toyota techical department think it may be due to excess crankcase pressure, due the breathers not working correctly, however they have not heard of the problem before, so my dealer has proposed to investigate by taking it to pieces, but they have no idea what to look for.

I just wondered if anyone else has noticed this, before I let them loose and they have pieces of my engine scattered around the workshop. It does'nt seem it is a major problem and may just be a characteristic due to the supercharger and higher engine output.

Sorry to ramble on , but I would be very grateful to anyone who can shed any light this.

Many Thanks,

Tom.

hi just to let you no after i had my compressor serviced i noticed my dip stick started to work its way out ,i wiped the top end of the dip stick around the o-ring and it seems to have cured it .thinking the oil on the o-ring is letting it slide up try it it may work

This was happening to mine as well, they offered to replace the O ring, but it never seemed to leak any oil when it was out.
