M1, Audi A3 right up my rear end, thought b****cks to this!

Foot down left him for dust!

Went back to legal speeds and watched the rear view mirror as he took his time to catch up.

Quote as he hovered alongside for a few seconds?

"What the f**k is that?!!"

It is very close to the ultimate sleeper car. Most people see it and expect either a 50year old woman or a 90 year old man to be behind the wheel and both being scared witless of getting out of 3rd gear, then all of a sudden the corolla is a small dot on the horizon in front of them \o/

Must admit when i told my mates i'd bought a Corolla their reaction was very much "Oh right" that soon changed of course when i took them out for a spin!

They'd always seen the Corolla as an "old folks" car and thought i'd put some fancy bumpers and a few badges on.

When people talk about "hot hatch's" they mention cars like the Golf GTI, Civic Type R etc.. they're nice cars but people expect them to be fast so don't look surprised when you floor it and disappear.

The T Sport however, doesn't have the same reputation thanks to car journalists usually slating it when comparing to the Civic Type R, but for that i'd like to say thank you!

Their comparisons have made the T Sport sound a lot more dull to drive and led to it not being talked about as a "hot hatch", this all adds to the enjoyment when you stick your foot down and watch people's expressions!!

Now if i could only rig up a camera to capture the moment.......

:yahoo:

Totally agree with you, and I got the same response from my mates and a couple of cousins. My cousins buy and sell a lot of cars and they really couldn't understand why I'd bought a corolla. They kept telling me I should have got the CTR or the Golf GTI. Then I took it over to theirs and took them out for a spin and now everytime I see them they always ask how my car is and if they can drive it. :toast:

Now then, just imagine how much fun it is to leave em in a cloud of dust when in the ultimate sleeper, and you're 60! :wheelchair:

lol you guys! the best is leaving clio's sat at the lights... 40+mph in first... gotta love it. And getting in someone else's car and just mentioning that their red line seems very low at 5K RPM... Some days i hate my tsport and then read a thread like this and remember how much fun it actually is.

I agree love hate relationship, I've loved all my Toyotas, and there have been a few, may as well give you a run down.

Now when I say oldest T sporter lets just put that into context.

IMG_0001.jpg

This was my first Corolla, it was also Toyotas first Corolla and one of the first in Lancashire. I was 19 when I bought it, every body wanted a look at it (very few jap motors then) stopped by police all the time, just wanted to look.

The little boy sat on the floor is now 40 with two lads of his own ( **** now I do feel old).

After that:

Corolla S.R.

Celica (pop up head lights)

Corolla five door

Corolla 4wd estate

Corolla four door

Corolla 1600 four door

Camry esate (huge)

Yaris cd

Yaris T sport

Yaris T sport

All of above made in Japan, no problems at all, but Rolla T sport made in England sorry to say bag of, but love it to bits.

P.S

When are we gonna get this North West meet up and running COME ON LADS.

The same happens in the T180 Auris. No1 expects it but you put your foot down and 400nm of torque and 180bhp = by by :)
