Gear Selector Skweak

hi ya people,

hoping someone can help me my 02 plate cts has developed a high pitch skweak when you select 1st (fine when selecting all the other gears) the sound seems to come from under the car, does anything need oiling or greasing do you think to save me having to go to main dealer im hoping its nothing serious as the car has only done 22,000 miles. any ideas or help would be great guys. meny thanks nathan :thumbsup:

hav u tried pressing down the clutch pedal to see if it is that? i hav the same it is just a sqeaky clutch plate or sumthing. mine is a face lift...

no m8, its not the clutch, it makes the noise when move the gearstick forward into 1st.

I have the same symptoms. Would love to know what it is, i always jsut thought something needs oiling. Would be telling the meccies during next service.

mine stopped yesterday but its back today, i dont think its much to worrie about, might be somthing that just disapires one day. but i will get mine checked when im passing mr t one day. let me know m8 if you find out sooner. :thumbsup:

PROBLEM CURED!!!!!!!

thought id let you know that iv sorted the inoying squeak, i got the misses in the car to select 1st and 2nd while i listened under the bonnet.the noise comes from the selector joints going into the gearbox,i just sprayed some wd40 on them and the sqweak suddenly went, give it a try. :yahoo: hope this sorts the same problem you have t sport 1078.
