Guys,

three questions for you:

1. What pressures you running your T3 s at. I'm using the standard 2.4 and 2.2 bar (F&R) but this does seem to give a hard ride?

2. What tyres are you guys running mine is still on the std Dunlop SPorts and these are really noisy.

3. What the hell is going on with the brake dust. I've never known a car so bad for it. I have to clean the wheels every week.

Using the same pressures and tyres as you

It would be interesting what mileage other drivers are getting out of there tyres before they need to be changed.

Regarding the brake dust issue yep its same with me but I suppose its to be expected .

I have noticed the rear brake covers are rusting a bit and have mentioned it to the dealer and he said will sort out when car is serviced

I'm just about to replace my front tyres, my T3 1.8 petrol has 25,000 on the clock, I bought it with 13,000 on the clock & reckon at least one of the front tyres is original. (I have 3 Dunlops but one firestone on the front) The rear tyres look good for a long time yet, but you know it depends a lot on what kind of driving you do.

I use 2.4 bar pressure all round.

I would of said the Dunlops would be from original set of tyres, i found them rubbish, had to change them after about 15K miles, cause i'm sure i would of had an accident with them on, slipping and sliding would be an understatement.

Change them to a full set of Goodyears, which i wore out in about 13K miles, but they were much better than the Dunlops.

Now got a full set of Michelin tyres on my car, which are good, but not as good as my Goodyear's i had before.

I try and keep all my tyres about 30-32psi, don't know what bar that would be, but i'm sure it wouldn't be far off with what you got your's set now.

Were you using the Goodyear NCT5's? They are the ones I am thinking of getting, I had them on my previous car and was well impressed by low noise and good grip. Of course the low road noise could just be that Vauxhall spent more on acoustic wading than Toyota did, who knows.

I've gone for two Goodyear 'Excellence' tyres on the front (£74 each) apparently they are the successor to the NCT5 which is to be phased out. What can I say, they are notaceably quieter than the Dunlops and more positive on the road, they even seem to give a smoother ride over bumps than the Dunlops and lets face it the Verso's ride is a bit hard. They look cool too with an unusual tread pattern. All in all very much better, I may change the other two tyres even though they have lots of tread!

There is about 16,000 miles on my wifes Verso and I would say the original tyres are on the car apart from the front left. We got the car at 12,000 miles. I don't think the original ones will last her through the winter which is why I'm thinking about replacing them before then.

I am running Toyo T1-R's on my car at the moment and find them excellent for grip and low road noise. My car has an extremely hard suspension, much harder than the Verso and they have definately made the ride more comfortable. Has anyone tried the Toyo's on their Verso yet as I'm thinking about buying them soon from www.eiretyres.com as they are on special at €86/each for 205/55/16

I have a Verso T3 1.8 and was amazed that the front tyres only lasted 15000 miles, my previous Mazda 6 could give me 32000 miles.

My car is owned by a fleet operator and they say it has to have Michelins, which is no bad thing as thats what I would choose anyway. It currently has Pilot Primacy's on the front and the original Dunlops on the back. Im more than happy with the Michelins, they seem to be lasting a lot longer.

With regards to pressures, I carry about 400kgs of tools and spares in the boot so have the pressures pretty high. 35psi front and 38psi rear. The car handles well at this pressue.

My wifes car just went in for its 2nd service @ 28,000km (17,500miles)

The tyres were almost down to the wire, so I bought in advance, 4 x Toyo T1-R's from eiretyres.com and the dealer fitted them for a nominal charge and took away the used tyres

However, they called in the middle of the service to say the front brake pads needed changing and they were only going to last another few weeks. Speaking to someone else who has just switched to Toyota, they also said that their wheels are always covered in brake dust and its supposed to be well known that Toyota pads are very soft and have a short life span.

Something I never knew but need to keep an eye on

Does the Verso have a brake pad warning light? If our pads were a few weeks from the end, I would have expected a light to come on for them, but didn't see one

The newer toyotas dont have brake pad wear warning lights, some of the older models may have but im not sure.

No wires on these pads, just a low fluid warning light and a squeal shim that touches the disc when the pads are too thin Kingo

I have changed my pads to green stuff for now and upgraded the dics, to sports, give me a much better brake response, I also have firestone firehawks on my car, which last forever, or until they get a slow puncture which is not repairable!!
