Hi All,

I've found a lot through this forum,

I recommand this : http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs/Toyota/PDF/869017.pdf

Got it from there : http://www.hiluxsurf.eu/faq_interior.htm#stereo_change

Thanks to Andy!! :)

I've got a Jap radio, and as explained in some places, it has got to go.

More over there are no Speakers in front (but apparently two sets in the back!?)

But I can't find the size / diameter of the Speakers...

Anyone knows?

And how about unmounting the back Speakers to get more powerfull ones? where can I find that online?

cheers! :)

Hi Wallabs.

The Speakers in the rear are (or should be) 'active' Speakers, they are attached to plastic pods and have a circuit board wired to them. the Speakers are 4". If there are no pods behind the side rear panels then you would be able to fit larger speakers but you may have problems mounting them unless you drill the panels.

The front speakers are again 4" and again attached to plastic pods although they don't have the circuit boards.

Hope this helps

Thanks Demon :)

So 4" = 10 cm apparently...

Which is quite small... the thing is I don't really understand this plastic pod..^^

I guess that the best thing to do is to take one side appart.. and look.. take a picture post it here.. ^^

Apparently their is an amplifier also...

Anyway.. if I bring back a nice Hifi car audio and two 4" / 10cm Speakers from Europe, and then just have my car repairs work shop handle it... I racon it would be ok... right? :P

Hehe, in my case if I get someone to do it, I'll have to go to the official toyota Dealer in Sudan, cuz I can't trust anyone else! :P lol

Exept my self.. lol but I racon that they could do it an hour where as I would take ages taking things apart, then ages figuring the wiring and fiting it all, and probably get it wrong a few times.. then take some time putting it back together (probably round 4 to 5 hours total... lol, if I got everything in hand and study the procedure 2 hours lol).. And at the moment I got temperatures of 45/ 46°C in the shade!! With 0 to 1% humidity thought - so it's barable as long as not in the sun... but still... lol

Hi Silversurfer

It's not that difficult to do,, If you have the time you can always come across to Stevenage and we'll go thru it together just PM me.

Wallabs.......4 inches is 100cm so a bit bigger than you thought.

You can get some pretty powerful Speakers in that size,, just shop around

Cheers

Paul
