I have just purchased a 07 Avensis. I find reception on the F.M channels very poor. The dealership from where I perchased the cas said trhey could'nt find any fault. Has anyone had any similar problems.

I also have a 07 avensis and am getting frustrated with the radio reception - I find it hisses on FM in some areas as though it wants retuning - when I do it doesnt seem to improve - also mine is an estate and I can hear interference when the rear wiper is on intermittent, it hisses each time it wipes - will take it to the dealer over the next few days ..... any ideas???

There has been a few people picked up on the fm reception. My 54 plate and my dads facelifted 06 plate are both the same so im not to bothered. Also other avensis i've drove with the arial in the rear window tend to be the same .

This is exactly the same as mine. When I took it to the dealership they compared it with another toyoya

and said they could find nothing wrong with it. The guy in the workshop suggested I get in touch with

Customer care and admitted off the record they were :censor: :censor: !!!.

To date I have not had the time to get touch. keep me posted as to how you get on.

I know a few people who've had this problem, but not with your new models, a power booster out of Halfords seemed to the trick. Don't know if this will help you.

Why oh why couldn't Toyota just have left things alone and fitted a conventional roof aerial?

Can't say it would have spoilt the look of the thing and would have given you somewhere to stick a flag

I've had this precise problem on other cars with an antenna in the rear window .

Audi and Nissan come to mind .Disconnected the window aerial ,fitted one on the roof , at the front.End of problems with excellent reception on AM & FM .Sounds a bit fiddly but it was no big deal really .

The passive roof antenna easily outperformed the amplified window type .Also done this with underperforming bee-sting type antennae.
