Pekea Alloys

Hi,

Just ordered my second Verso (the first a T3 in 2004 and now a TR) and my wife and I fancied putting some extras on it. So along with the parking sensors we asked for the Pekea 17-inch alloys, and we were quoted 1885 GBP for all 5 wheels, including VAT and tyres!!

Turns out, that Toyota don't do a rebate against the original wheels and tyres (which we don't obviously need). Here's what Toyota themselves say:

Thank you for your email of 14 May 2007 about your new Toyota Verso.

I have spoken to Product Planning Department on your behalf, but regret that Toyota do not currently offer a wheel upgrade scheme.

We are always interested in feedback from our customers, and I have passed on the information you have provided on other manufacturer’s schemes. Whilst I regret this is not something we can assist you with currently I would not rule out such a scheme.

I would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention and trust this will not deter you from supporting the brand in the future.

Yours sincerely

Am I alone in thinking that this is a joke? Anyone know if the wheels are cheaper on the continent?

No this is just a Toyota standard reply "We are always interested in feedback from our customers, and I have passed on the information you have provided on other manufacturer’s schemes. Whilst I regret this is not something we can assist you with "

I wonder what alloys will be on the facelifted Verso I think the changes are small

And like you say it is a joke but I am afraid this is the standard customer service you seem to get from Toyota these days and if you really want a laugh this comment below was lifted from a Toyota website

. Where ‘Customer first’ began

In any competitive business, customer satisfaction is a top priority. For us, that’s just the point of departure.

Our goal is to turn customer satisfaction into Complete Customer Satisfaction. This means delivering beyond expectations. It means listening to customers and constantly seeking to do things better. And it means going the extra mile to ensure that owners feel positive about their Toyota vehicle at every stage of the customer experience.

The concept of “Customer first” originated in the Toyota Production System. Irrespective of how flawless and pleasing the final product may be, we would consider it meaningless if it didn’t meet customers’ demands and satisfy their needs

I didn't know about that! Thanks for letting me know. Had a quick google and saw what you're talking about.

Just phoned the sales guy and got him to cancel the order (didn't lose my deposit either, phew! )

Just got to sit tight for details of the new model to come in.... Hope they don't have too many recalls on this one as my first one did....

I don't know what spec changes are happening but it would not surprise me if parking sensors will be included on some models but that is just a guess.

I thought I read it somewhere that they were going to be on the current TR version but Toyota changed there minds but I could be wrong only time will tell

Have just joined this forum as we have ordered a TR and seem to be waiting ages for delivery.

Obviously didn't know there was a new model iminent.

When is it out and will it be just a different spec, or a totally new facelift?
