Aygo Drive Day

Recommended Posts

Posted

I'm organising a AYGO cruise on 24th June. We will be starting in Lincoln (breakfast available) and then driving in convoy to Cadwell Park race circuit. A few parade laps there and then on to Skegness for fish & chips. There will be a modest entry fee to cover catering expenses and the track fees. Anyone interested?

Sounds like a great idea. The roads to Cadwell are amazing, as are the roads out to the coast.

AND Skeggy fish and Chips

Although I live in Yorkshire, I come from near Lincoln, so I would love to attend.

Is the cruise not on the 24th June, just looking at your post and it says we need to register before the 18th July is it meant to be June. I promise I am not trying to be a smart a***. Also hub caps for the aygo does anyone know where i could pick a set up from because I do not want to come to the cruise with my current hubs as I got driven off the road and well they are not very presentable.

Regards,

Miles

Hi, Sounds good to me.

With regards to the registration, is it just a case of sending you an email to confirm I wish to attend?

Do you require any personal, or vehicle details for registration ?

Cheers

We need confirmation by e-mail of the driver's name and address, the reg number of your car and how many passengers you are bringing (to james.bt@listersgroup.co.uk). We will contact you within a few days to arrange payment either by credit/debit card or by sending a cheque.

I look forward to hearing from you.

It is a shame that this event was not made available to ALL Toyota Owners Club members regardless of which Toyota they drive.

We are, after all a club for all Toyota drivers and at times the forums do become a little segregated.

I would value you opinion on this Toyota Centre Principle..............how do you feel about other non Aygo drivers joining in? :)

Posted

It's a fair point. I think that in general Toyota owners are loyal to the brand, not a specific model. A general event would be great.

Unfortunatley, in this instance, we are restricted to 100 cars. We have sent personal invitations to over 200 people that have bought an AYGO from our 3 Lincolnshire Centres. We have 2 support vehicles and a fleet of 10 AYGO's for our staff and prospective customers. With the additional response that we've had from the Owner's Club, we simply aren't able to offer it out to every Toyota owner.

However.....we will have a limited number of AYGOs available for hire on the day. There will be an additional cost and the insurance won't cover use on the race track but it does mean that more Club Members can join in.

If the event goes well, we'll look at doing something similar another year.

100 Aygo's in a convoy is going to be an amazing site

I can't wait now.

Have you booked some sunshine, James, as you seem to have every other base covered?

 Great News... Skegness happens to be hosting the 4th Round of the British Kite Surfing Association Championship on 24th June. WORLD class kitesurfers will be turning the north beach into a mecca for extreme sports enthusiasts over the weekend.

:band: There's going to be live bands playing and I'm sure the atmosphere at the resort will be great.

:driving: We've also managed to book car parking space. It's in a pay & display so you'll need some change £2 for 2hrs.

 I'm still working on the weather though, timcrasher! It's always nice in Skegness on weekends in June. It's just on the bank holidays that it rains!

Got 50 people coming so far. Some are sharing cars so we've still got space for plenty more. Please e-mail me as soon as you can so that I can finalise catering & parking arrangements: james.bt@listersgroup.co.uk.

That was a great day! Thank you to everyone who came. We had a fantastic turnout and it was the participants that made it such a good event. It was wonderful to see so many AYGO's and I'm really pleased that so many of you were able to come.

I'm sorry that the kids weren't allowed on the track but I hope they enjoyed it as much as Joseph and Jake?

All feedback and ideas for the next one very welcome!

Photos and a write up on the day will be posted on myspace.com/ukcardealership in a couple of weeks.

Tim, your car looks great by the way.

Just got back from Skegness, and I just wanted to say a big thankyou to James, Gerry, and all the staff at Listers Toyota in Lincoln, for a great day.

The look of utter bewilderment on the faces of the people we passed in our convoy was a sight not to be missed.

The people of Skegness didn't know what to think of us , with all the horns beeping on the sea front, but we enjoyed it :yahoo:

So thankyou very much, and I look farward to the next one

Cheers

James, Thanks for your comment about my car.

It looks like its been dragged out of a canal, after driving back in the rain. I just have to wash it again, for the 4th time this week
