What does the google.xml file look like in the Firefox\searchplugins directory?

It looks as though it defaults the search engine to your machine's locale. You don't have your PC location set to Holland do you, otherwise I'd suggest removing the plugin and downloading it again.

the laptops locale has not changed, its still gb. It must be getting the info of the ISP.

If I use the GPRS connection it goes back to google.co.uk or .com, I cant remember which one.

Go to the "tools" menu.. click options...http://www.google.co.uk/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official

Put the above as your home page.. thats what mine is set at.

hmmm.. its not obvious to me...

Try going to the view/toolbars and click costomise... then restore defaults.

Update on the homepage issue.. if you don't want the firefox version of google... put in http://www.google.co.uk/ instead of the above link.
