Avensis Advice Needed - New Car

Any info ?

Looks ok - I don't know enough about the prices of that model to comment on the value. Does the colour of the rear wing match the rear door in the pic - it's probably just the light that makes it look iffy. If the car is genuine then I am sure it would make a good purchase. I would not hesitate on any Toyota that had FSH and a low mileage.

I'm assuming you can't look at the car, so try to only pay a deposit in advance; when you go to pick it up make sure that the paperwork stacks up and take someone along who knows cars to give you a decent second opinion.

I am after and Avensis and have seen this one on ebay that look like its great value, can anyone tell me what to watch out for, this will be my first Avensis so any advice is welcomed.

If you are bidding for a car on Ebay 'what to watch out for' in terms of that model in general doesn't really apply unless you intend to view it. Basically you bid to buy and thats that. Ebay offers a vehicle status report at a very cheap price (similar to an HPI report) and I would strongly recommend you get one of these.

Generally the Avensis is very reliable and this appears to be a nice example. But did you want a 4 door? The hatchback version has a cavenous boot whereas the saloon's boot can be a bit restrictive. Expect to pay less for a 4 door.

If you can't view the car prior to bidding ask the seller to send some more photos showing both sides front and back and the interior.

I see the seller wants cash on sale. Make sure you take someone with you before setting off with a wad of notes and don't handover anything until you see and get all the documentation.

Hello Wendy, the German TÜV test agency substantially says that you can buy a Toyota Avensis without problems.

TÜV used-car test: Toyota Avensis 1.6 sedan automatic.

TÜV: the 88,2% of the three years old Toyota Avensis that were tested passed the test with the annotation "without defects". No particular defect except for the shock absorbers, but only under extreme heavy conditions (rear shock absorbers using the Avensis station wagon for heavy delivery service).
