Crunch Into 4th

As it says, my gearbox has developed a crunch into 4th gear when changing up.

Only happens when booting it.

Could this be the synchro gone, or something as simple as needing to change the oil.

If its just the oil can anyone help as to were the drain and fill points are, and which oil to use.

Pretty confident that will be your synchro if it was oil i would think it would be crunching into all gears.
